Australia’s Palmer takes gold in men’s park skateboarding

Australia’s Keegan Palmer on Thursday took the first-ever Olympic gold in the men’s park skateboarding event. The 18-year-old Australian posted 95.83 points in his third run at the Ariake Sports Park to beat Brazil’s Pedro Barros (86.14) and American Cory Juneau (84.13). Palmer’s first run, worth 94.04 points, would have also won him a gold.
