Gulf rivals come together at Iraqi regional meeting

Senior officials from Gulf countries, allied with the United States, and rival Iran were on Saturday among participants in a conference held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad in an attempt to calm regional tensions. French President Emmanuel Macron attended the summit, which was also joined by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran. In recent years, tensions have mounted between Riyadh and Tehran as they support opposing sides in a war of nearly seven years in Yemen.
