Inami charge falls short as Korda takes Olympic golf gold

World number one Nelly Korda clung on to take Olympic gold at the women’s golf tournament at the Tokyo Games on Saturday after a stunning charge from Japan’s Mone Inami fell just short. Inami posted a superb six-under 65 on the fourth and final round at the Kasumigaseki Country Club but bogeyed the last having made up five to Korda over the first 17 holes of the day. Korda, the daughter of former Australian Open tennis champion Petr Korda, adds Olympic gold to her PGA Championship title won earlier this year.
