Villages in Haiti still left waiting for aid after devastating quake

After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, aid had still not reached some hard-hit places by Thursday. Some villages had been almost completely destroyed and were still waiting for urgently needed items such as food, drinking water, medicine and tents, Le Nouvelliste newspaper reported from the southern Haitian department of Sud. Faced with hardship and increased anger among residents, elected local representatives were calling on the state to act, it reported.
