Zambian opposition leader Hichilema takes early lead in presidential vote

By Chris Mfula LUSAKA (Reuters) -Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema extended his early lead over long-time rival and incumbent Edgar Lungu in Zambia’s presidential election on Saturday, results announced by the electoral commission showed. Lungu, 64, has been in power since 2015. Hichilema – known as “HH” – is a businessman who has criticised the president’s management of an economy in turmoil.
