In these scary times in American politics, with mutual scorn between Democrats and Republicans running hot, we rarely see the benefits of a two-party system. But it happened in Trenton on Wednesday. The Legislature passed a reasonable budget with the largest surplus ever, the biggest tax cut ever, and the largest paydown of debt ever.
