Japan logs 839.2 billion yen goods trade deficit in April

Japan logged a goods trade deficit of 839.2 billion yen ($6.6 billion) in April, remaining in the red for the ninth consecutive month, the Finance Ministry said Thursday. Exports rose 12.5 percent from a year earlier and imports increased 28.2 percent, the ministry said in a preliminary report.
