By David Wetzel New York (Knewz) — The Internal Revenue Service has a backlog of more than 21 million paper tax returns from 2021, according to The Washington Post. Citing the National Taxpayer Advocate, the agency’s watchdog for citizens, The Post reported that the IRS has a backlog of 21.3 million paper returns, 7 percent more than the number that were not yet processed at this time last year.
