210 people injured in Kuala Lumpur after urban rail lines collide

More than 210 people were injured when two light rail trains (LRT) collided in Kuala Lumpur on Monday. At least 47 were seriously injured in the accident, according to Channel News Asia, citing rescue workers. Officials said the accident took place when the trains were travelling underground, but that the cause of the accident was initially unclear. No deaths were reported, according to the authorities. The Transport Ministry was preparing to investigate what caused the accident, the first since LRT began operating in 1998, according to Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong.
