Argyle patterns are in style right now. Anyone else surprised?

Argyle patterns are often associated with grandparents or the British aristocracy. But recent fashion trends are challenging these cliches, taking the print to the catwalk. British singer Harry Styles – the first man to be on the cover of Vogue – regularly wears argyle. “The pattern consists of diamond-shaped blocks arranged in a checkerboard pattern, usually with crossed stripes in a contrasting colour,” explains fashion consultant Andreas Rose from Frankfurt. The expert was still surprised by the soaring popularity of argyle, which has long been considered the ultimate “philistine pattern.” …
