Australia’s Melbourne to lock down for one more week

The Australian city of Melbourne will stay in lockdown for one more week, the Victorian state government said on Wednesday. Acting state premier James Merlino said there were 60 active coronavirus cases across Victoria as he announced the extension. The circuit-breaker lockdown across the state of Victoria was due to end on Thursday night, but will remain in place in Melbourne with some small changes, while the rest of the state will see measures largely lifted.
