Austria’s OeVP wants to speed up deportations after Vienna killing

Following the killing of a 13-year-old girl in Vienna, Austria’s ruling conservatives are looking into speeding up the process for deporting migrants. The two suspects in the case, aged 16 and 18, from Afghanistan were transferred from police custody to a correctional facility on Wednesday. “People who want protection from us and step on our values and express this in their actions have no place in our country,” said EU and Constitutional Minister Karoline Edtstadler, of the conservative Austrian People’s Party (OeVP).
