Barcelona outclass Chelsea to win women’s Champions League

Brilliant Barcelona dismantled Chelsea 4-0 in Gothenburg on Sunday to lift the women’s Champions League title for the first time. The Spanish domestic title winners took a fortuitous lead inside 35 seconds when Chelsea’s Melanie Leupolz deflected the ball into her own net but then never looked back. Alexia Putellas doubled the advantage with a penalty before Aitana Bonmati and Caroline Hansen effectively ended the tie before half-time.
