Captain Sergio Ramos to leave Real Madrid

Captain Sergio Ramos is set to announce his departure from Real Madrid on Thursday, the Spanish top club have said. Real said on their website on Wednesday that “an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Pérez.” The contract of the 35-year-old centre-back Ramos expires at the end of the month. He has been at Real for 16 years and won 22 titles with them, including four Champions Leagues and Club World Cups each, five La Liga titles and two Spanish Cups.
