Europe counts the cost of ‘horror’ floods as death toll passes 120

At least 127 people have died in the devastating floods that this week engulfed parts of Europe amid fears that more victims could be found in the tangled wreckage of buildings, trees, power lines and cars left by the raging waters. Heavy rainfall and torrents of muddy water have turned picturesque landscapes and historic towns into disaster zones across parts of Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
