Former South Korean president Chun Doo Hwan dies

Former South Korean President Chun Doo Hwan has died. The 90-year-old former general, who suffered from a number of chronic ailments, died in his home in the capital Seoul, police confirmed. He was apparently found by guards at his residence, who called police. Chun had suffered from cancer of the bone marrow. His health had deteriorated recently and he barely left his home. Chun headed an authoritarian military regime from 1980 to 1988.
