Frankfurt airport’s Terminal 2 back in use after more than a year

After more than a year of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, air traffic returned to Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 2 on Tuesday. The first flight, a TUI Fly aircraft to Rhodos in Greece, took off at 5 am (0300 GMT). There was little passenger traffic on the first day of reopening however, being before the start of the summer holidays and peak travel times. A dpa reporter on the scene observed moderate queues in front of the check-in counters and ample space in the parking lots.
