German chancellor candidate Baerbock appears at climate protest

One of the three candidates to become German chancellor, the Greens’ Annalena Baerbock, has made an unexpected appearance at one of the Fridays for Future climate events happening around the country. Baerbock came to a meeting point for the so-called “climate strike” in the western city of Cologne. Later in the day Baerbock is expected to attend an event in Dusseldorf to officially end her party’s nationwide election campaign. Baerbock’s Greens are currently third in the polls.
