German Ethics Council in favour of expanding vaccination requirement

Amid German efforts to halt the spread of the coronavirus’ Omicron variant, the country’s Ethics Council has come out in favour of extending a vaccination requirement for sensitive sectors to “significant parts of the population.” The requirement for staff in sensitive institutions to be vaccinated against the coronavirus was only recently introduced. An extension of the requirement must be flanked by a series of measures, according to a recommendation adopted by a majority of the advisory body on Wednesday.
