German football makes donation to help flood victims

German football will create a 3-million-euro (3.5- million-dollar) fund to help victims of the catastrophic floods which have claimed dozens of lives in the western part of the country. The German league (DFL) and federation (DFB) announced the donation on Friday, saying “the pictures of the floods and devastation, the full extent of this catastrophe, leave us affected and appalled. “Our thoughts go with the relatives of the deceased, the injured and the many people in need,” a joint statement said.
