German part of global sting focuses on drug crime in state of Hesse

More than 70 people were detained in Germany on Tuesday during raids launched as part of a globally coordinated crackdown on criminal gangs, law enforcement officers said. They were part of the 800 arrests reported on Tuesday as a network of national police forces revealed that they had set up a fake encrypted computer system to trick gangs worldwide into storing data there. The data was then used to track them down and arrest them.
