Hamas: Ceasefire is ‘mutual,’ set to take effect within hours

Hamas, the Palestinian organization that controls the Gaza Strip, says that a ceasefire recently announced by Israel is “mutual.” “The ceasefire is mutual and will go into force for both sides at 2 am on Friday [2300 GMT on Thursday],” says Taher al-Nuno, an advisor to Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. He said the Palestinians’ “armed resistance” will honour the ceasefire so long as it is upheld by the Israeli side.
