Hamilton quicker than Verstappen in practice for crucial Saudi GP

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes was faster than championship leader Max Verstappen in Red Bull in Friday practice for the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where the Formula One title battle could be decided. Hamilton set a best lap of 1 minute 29.018 seconds around the 6.174-kilometre street circuit in Jeddah and team-mate Valtteri Bottas was just 0.061 seconds behind. Verstappen, who leads Hamilton by just eight points with two races left, was fourth at a gap of around 2 tenths of a second to Hamilton.
