Israel cuts wait time for third vaccine shot to three months

Israel has cut the recommended period between receiving a second Covid-19 vaccine shot and a booster dose from five months to three. A statement from the Health Ministry’s director-general, Nachman Ash, said the recommendation was changed in light of the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. Ash said delivering boosters sooner would offer greater protection to the population. Other countries such as Germany and France have also issued similar directives, the statement noted.
