Italy tightens coronavirus rules in response to rapid rise in cases

Italy will tighten its coronavirus rules starting August 6, requiring proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test result to visit places such as the gym, the swimming pool or the museum. The Italian Council of Ministers, which announced the decision on Thursday night, also said in a statement that the state of emergency would be extended until the end of the year.
