Less water, more humidity: Houseplants need special care in winter

Plants need light – something that there’s rarely an abundance of in winter. Light is basically part of their diet, because light allows plants to produce energy, among other things. That’s why your houseplants might be suffering when the days are short and there isn’t much natural light. The easiest solution: move your plants to the window sill. Alternatively, you can help them out by providing them with artificial light using special grow lights. It’s best to use LED lights as these consume the least electricity.
