Aluminium foil is not the best choice for wrapping sandwiches, according to a consumer association based in Germany. Besides the fact that it can often only be used once and requires a lot of resources to make, it can also release aluminium particles into salty and acidic foods when it comes into contact with them, which are then ingested when eaten.
