Marxist or right-wing populist? Peruvians pick their next president

Peruvian citizens headed to the polls on Sunday to vote in a presidential election that boils down to which political extreme can flex the most muscle: Marxist village schoolteacher Pedro Castillo or right-wing populist Keiko Fujimori. Both were essentially tied in the last poll before Sunday’s run-off. More than 25 million Peruvians were called on to vote.
