Moderna aiming for EU approval for vaccine from age of 12

US pharmaceutical company Moderna is to make a formal application to European medical authorities to approve its coronavirus vaccine for people aged 12 to 17, chief executive Stephane Bancel told French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche. The application will be lodged with European Medicines Agency (EMA) early in June, Bancel said. The Amsterdam-based EMA had previously announced that it would decide this month on whether to approve the vaccine from BioNTech/Pfizer for young people over 12 years old.
