New York hits all-time low for COVID-19 infection rates

NEW YORK — When it comes to coronavirus infection rates, New York is still going down, down, down. The statewide seven-day positive test average Saturday dipped to an all-time low of 0.54%, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced. There were just 761 new cases logged in the state in the last 24 hours out of more than 140,000 tests administered. All five boroughs of New York City also recorded rates about the same or lower than the statewide average.
