Poland rejects EU rule-of-law ‘blackmail’; Hungary sees ‘witch hunt’

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki showed no sign of backing down in the fight over a recent Constitutional Tribunal ruling involving the supremacy of Polish law over EU law. EU institutions like the European Court of Justice and the European Commission had overstepped their treaty-based competences, Morawiecki charged. “That was not the arrangement.
