Police clash with leftist protesters at Leipzig demonstration

Police clashed with leftist protesters in the eastern city of Leipzig on Saturday after some attendees threw bottles and fireworks at officers. Some 3,500 people attended the protest held in support of four people arrested for allegedly targeting right-wing activists. After the rally ended, some protesters built barricades out of wooden pallets, traffic signs and rubbish bins and set them alight in the Connewitz district.
