Schalke sells franchise slot in esports championship for 26.5m euros

The Bundesliga club Schalke, considered a pioneer among football clubs when it comes to esports involvement, is selling its franchise slot in the League of Legends European Championship to a Swiss group for a whopping 26.5 million euros (31.5 million dollars).
