Sudanese premier reportedly under house arrest after military coup

Reports from Sudan say there was an attempted coup early on Monday morning. Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok is said to be under house arrest, and other members of the government are also said to have been detained, according to broadcaster Al-Hadath and the news portal Sudan Tribune. According to the British organization Netblocks, which documents internet outages worldwide, the internet, mobile phone network and parts of the landline network have been disrupted since the early hours of the morning.
