Sweet wine deserves a better rep: German late harvest wines are proof

If you head to a wine-growing region of Germany, then the grapes left hanging on the vines long after harvest may leave you wondering what that is all about. It’s no accident that day by day they look more and more like raisins. The winegrower’s here have big plans ahead. “If everything works out, the result will be very fine, rare sweet wines,” says Ernst Buescher of the German Wine Institute (DWI).
