Traditional Christmas celebrations began in Jerusalem on Friday, with the Christmas procession setting out for Bethlehem at noon. For the second year in a row, the celebrations are taking place under coronavirus restrictions. In order to contain the spread of the Omicron variant, Israel closed the borders to foreigners at the beginning of the month.
