Two dead after shots fired in front of court in northern Germany

Two people are dead in the northern German city of Celle after a man allegedly shot a woman dead before fatally turning the gun on himself on the grounds of the city’s district court, a police spokesperson told dpa. The shots were fired on Thursday close to the entrance of the courthouse. The police were notified at 10:20 am (0820 GMT). The road on which the courthouse is situated, one of the main thoroughfares in Celle, was then shut off by police, the spokesperson said.
