VW sales race ahead after coronavirus slump, despite China slowdown

Europe’s biggest carmaker Volkswagen posted a sharp rise in global sales on Friday as the world’s auto industry rebounded from a crisis unleashed by the pandemic. German-based VW said total world-wide deliveries of its stable of brands, which includes Audi, Porsche and its flagship VW, climbed 41 per cent to 860,000 units in May compared with a year earlier.
