Washington, DC, becomes latest metropolis to adopt vaccine mandate

Washington, D.C., is joining a growing list of metropolises adopting vaccine mandates to speed up the already long return to normalcy. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser announced Wednesday that beginning in mid-January, anyone age 12 and up must show proof of at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccination in order to enter most businesses, including restaurants, The Washington Post reports. Bowser reinstated D.C.’s mask mandate earlier this week to offset its new daily COVID-19 case rate, which now overtakes the rate of any state’s, according to the newspaper.
